About Us
Mud Rat began as a love for surfing that turned into a passion for keeping our oceans clean. Now, we’ve merged those two passions to create an eco-friendly surfboard blank that doesn’t contribute to ocean pollution. Every step of creating our boards—from procuring the materials to riding their first waves—is done with the health of our oceans and shapers in mind. Technology
We’re using non-toxic mycelium to create our surfboard blanks, which is sourced from mushrooms and has no negative impact on the environment. For the building process, we’ve created a machine that grows and dries our mycelium to our desired specifications, making it the perfect material to build environmentally safe surfboard blanks.
